American Baptist Seminary of the West would like to extend a very special thank you to all of our constituents for participating in the first giving challenge of the year, during a global pandemic. Your consistent giving has truly been a blessing to the seminary, especially as it helps to fund operational expenses and student scholarships. The goal was to raise $100,000 during the month of June. We were successful in exceeding our goal! With the giving challenge we raised $83,789 in cash and $150,000 in an estate gift. Your liberal giving will help to ensure that the seminary remains stable during these pandemic times and beyond. "In all things I have shown you that by working hard in this way we must help the weak and remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he himself said, 'It is more blessed to give than to receive;'" Acts 20:35. Thank you for being a blessing!

Truth to Power: Barbara Lee Speaks For Me, about ABSW trustee Rep. Barbara Lee, is a wonderful portrait of how Barbara Lee's early years shaped her commitment and dedication as the U.S. Congresswoman that we know today. The film shows Rep. Lee as a champion for justice and equality and delves into her humble beginnings and her rise to Congress where she has ardently and often spoken out against a myriad of societal ills and world issues, including being the lone voice in opposition of the broad authorization of military force in the wake of 9/11. President Brenneman, who recently attended the screening of the film at this year's Jewish Film Festival's opening night at the Solano Drive-In Theater (Concord, CA), commented, "Here at ABSW, we are so privileged to have Rep. Lee on our board of trustees providing profound and prophetic leadership based on her exemplary life-experience. I highly recommend that you see this powerful film when you get the chance."

Are you wondering where you can ask deep questions, mature intellectually and spiritually, and prepare for diverse ministries during such a time as this? Look no further. ABSW welcomes the occasion to inspire your theological imagination and help your head, heart, and hands discern a meaningful vocational path.
