Located in Berkeley, California, across the bay from San Francisco, Berkeley School of Theology is just a few blocks south of the University of California, Berkeley. The Graduate Theological Union Library, as well as the campuses of several other GTU seminaries, can be reached by taking a twenty-minute walk north across the University campus.

Berkeley School of Theology’s address is 2606 Dwight Way, Berkeley, CA 94704. You will find BST’s main entrance to Hobart Hall under the second-floor walkway, right off of Dwight Way, near the intersection where Bowditch St. ends at Dwight Way. Please ring the bell for entry.

Airport Information
Depending on traffic, the Seminary is about twenty minutes from Oakland International Airport (17 miles) and a thirty to forty-five-minute drive from San Francisco International Airport (25 miles). PARKING RESERVATIONS
You can reserve parking in advance by visiting http://www.parkme.com/ or https://spothero.com. Enter BST’s address, 2606 Dwight Way, Berkeley, CA 94704 to perform a search for parking options and the desired date.
STREET PARKING:
Parking is limited on neighborhood streets. Free street parking is limited to 2 hours in one place, effective Monday-Saturday 9 AM – 7 PM. Metered parking immediately around campus is $3.25/hr with a maximum of 8 hours. Meters accept Visa, Mastercard, or coins, and are in effect Monday-Saturday, 9 AM – 6 PM. Please note that a parking ticket runs around $45+ in Berkeley.
PARKING GARAGES & LOTS
$20 All-Day (10 hours) at the First Presbyterian Church of Berkeley garage. Their address is: 2407 Dana St, Berkeley, CA 94704. This is about seven minutes by foot to BST. To get there from BST:
- From Dwight, travel north on Telegraph (it’s one-way).
- Turn left onto Channing.
- First Presbyterian Church’s parking garage is on the left, mid-block on Channing.
Hourly parking is available at LAZ Parking Telegraph Channing Garage. The first hour is free and then it is $1 per hour every hour. Their address is: 2450 Durant Avenue, Berkeley, CA 94704, approximated 6-minutes away by foot. To get there from BST:
- From Dwight, travel north on Telegraph (it’s one-way).
- Turn left onto Channing.
- The parking garage is on the right, mid-block on Channing.
$13 All-Day at Douglas Parking on Durant. Their address is 2550 Durant Ave, Berkeley, CA 94704, about a nine-minute walk to BST. You can reserve a spot in advance through the SpotHero app or their website. To get there from BST:
- From Dwight, travel north on Telegraph (it’s one-way).
- Turn right onto Durant.
- Douglas Parking is on your right, at the far end of the block.
Public Transportation: AC Transit and BART
ROCKRIDGE BART STATION
You will need a Clipper Card for BART and AC Transit (the bus). There is an app available. Please check BART’s website or app for real-time arrivals as well as the weekday and weekend schedules for the yellow line.
- Take BART to the Rockridge BART Station (yellow line).
- At the Rockridge BART station and College Avenue, board AC Transit bus #51/Broadway (51B) headed North, towards Berkeley Marina/Amtrak. Please check AC Transit’s website or app for arrival times. The bus runs about every 15 minutes on weekdays and every 25 minutes on weekends.
- After 8 stops, disembark at College Avenue and Parker Street.
- Walk north on College for 1 block towards Dwight Way. For landmarks, this is a residential area; when you reach College and Dwight, Newman Hall will be on the corner.
- Turn left onto Dwight. Walk west (downhill) on Dwight, about 1½ blocks to BST at 2606 Dwight Way. BST will be on the left (south) side of the street.
Special Note: The #51/Broadway (51B) schedule runs more frequently on weekdays than on weekends/holidays. The ride takes 15 minutes, and the westward walk to BST is downhill, just about a five minute walk.
Walking: If you wish walk directly to BST from the Rockridge BART station, it is approximately a 35 minute walk, mostly flat.
DOWNTOWN BERKELEY BART STATION
You will need a Clipper Card for BART and AC Transit (the bus). There is an app available. Please check BART’s website or app for real-time arrivals. Please note the red line has different schedules on weekdays versus weekends. The orange line also has different weekday and weekend schedules.
- Take BART to the Downtown Berkeley BART Station (red or orange lines).
- Walk half a block south along Shattuck towards the corner of Allston. For a landmark, the stop is in front of a Walgreens.
- Board at Shattuck and Allston, 51B towards Rockridge. The 51B bus, operated by AC Transit, runs about every 15 minutes on weekdays and every 25 minutes on weekends.
- Ride 6 stops until College and Haste and disembark.
- Walk south along College for 1 block. For landmarks, there will be residence halls along College, and Newman Hall will be on the corner of Dwight and College.
- Turn right (west) onto Dwight. Walking downhill for 1½ blocks, BST is located at 2606 Dwight Way on the south (left) side of the street.
Special Note: The #51/Broadway (51B) schedule runs more frequently on weekdays than on weekends/holidays. The bus ride from Shattuck & Allston to College & Haste is about 7 minutes.
Walking: It is an approximately 25 minute walk from the Downtown Berkeley BART Station to BST, mostly uphill.
