International Students

Berkeley School of Theology has a long tradition of providing an education to international students. Being located in Berkeley, CA positions us to serve effectively as an international seminary. Some of our classes are also taught in Korean and Spanish.

Our past graduates are from all over the world. International students, like our domestic students, are not just Baptist. They are diverse. Some are Methodist, Presbyterian, Pentecostal, and even Anglican.

We would be very happy to help you apply to one of our programs.

Prospective international students must complete and submit the standard application. A few items to note:

TOEFL Scores

Students from a country in which English is not the official language must submit scores from the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) from within the past two years. You may also demonstrate English proficiency by submitting proof of instruction in English at the secondary level or college/university where a degree has been awarded.

Official Transcripts

Applicants must submit official records from each academic institution attended after secondary school. Official transcripts must be mailed directly from the attended institution in the original language, accompanied by English translations.

I-20 Request Form/Student Visa Status

BST is authorized to provide students with the I-20 document necessary.

To obtain the I-20, a student must document sufficient financial support for at least one year of study at BST. Click here to request a I-20 form.

This form demonstrates whether or not your total financial resources when combined with offered BST aid, qualify you for an F-1 student visa. Once a student receives the I-20, he or she goes to the U.S. Consulate office in his or her home country to apply for the F-1 student visa. Please allow ample time for visa processing.
